The competition is addressed to all lyric singers without any age limits from all nationalities.
ARTICLE 2 – ARTICULATION OF THE COMPETITION
Competitors must perform 5 pieces from the opera repertoire of their choice, in the original language and are required to provide a pdf copy of the musical score of the sections performed by them to be used by the jury and the accompanying pianist.
THE COMPETITION IS DIVIDED IN FOUR PHASES
phase – 17th of October
Competitors must perform one or more pieces (according to the jury’s request) of their choice amongst those presented;
The competitors admitted to the following phase (First Round) are the competitors who will have obtained the eligibility, chosen by the discretion of the jury.
Round – 18th of October
The admitted candidates must perform one or two pieces (according to the jury’s request), chosen from those presented however not performed in the Eliminatory phase.
– 19th of October
The admitted candidates must perform one or two pieces (according to the jury’s request), chosen amongst all those presented.
– 20th of October
Only A maximum of 6 candidates will be admitted to the final. The final consists of a public concert where each candidate must perform two pieces chosen from those presented. Each candidate will have the opportunity to rehearse with their pianist for the necessary amount of time.
In the Eliminatory and First Round phases the Jury reserves the right to listen to the program presented in whole or in part, possibly interrupting the competitor at the jury’s discretion. The jury’s judgment is unquestionable and irrevocable. The judges are not obliged to give any explanation to the candidates for their judgement, however the organization will collect the jury’s feedback and make it known privately to the participants on request.
The final rounds of the competition will be open to the public and managers of international artist agencies will be present.
ARTICLE 3 – LOCATION
The Competition will take place from the 17nd to the 20th of October at the Palazzo dei Capitani and Castello Scaligero and the Auditorium della Funivia in the town of Malcesine.
ARTICLE 4 – ACCOMPANYING PIANISTS
The organization of the competition provides accompanying pianists for performing the rehearsals.
Competitors can use a pianist of their choice and at their own expense by making a request upon registration.

Maria Labia Award (€ 1000,00) to the best soprano, presented by Labia’s heirs

ARTICLE 9 – RIGHTS
The participants disclaim any rights to access, usage and exploitation of the filming via radio and / or television footage of their performances and also to transmit or reproduce the songs they perform during the competition and authorize the organization to film videos and audio photos of every moment of the Competition and use them and distribute them at their own discretion without participants having any claim.
10 – FINAL RULES
By registering for the competition the participant implicitly accepts all the rules contained in this announcement. In case of disputes the Italian text of the announcement will be considered authentic. The competent forum is Lodi.
